- What is ZL2UCX? - This is my Amateur Radio (Ham Radio) callsign, which uniquely identifies my Amateur Radio License, issued under international regulations, anywhere in the world.
I am married with 2 children, and live in Christchurch, New Zealand (since 1982). I work in IT as a Consultant and Contractor.
I also do some training work for Tai Poutini Polytechnic through SARINZ, as an instructor for some IT related courses for Search and Rescue.
I am heavily involved with Amateur Radio, especially Emergency Communications (or AREC), Search and Rescue, and Civil Defence and Emergency Management.
Combining Radio and IT I am a member of the New Zealand Red Cross IT&T Emergency Response Unit.
I am also involved in Scouting, have been a Scout leader at Holmes Park Scout group and a Venturer leader for the Rimu Venturer Unit.
