Today I finished the Red Cross BTC (Basic Training Course) for international delegates.
There were a total of 18 on the course, 3 of us from the IT&T ERU.
The course is a week long intensive course introducing the many facets of the Red Cross organisation internationally, and nationally, its principles and aspects relating to the international humanitarian work that they do and the roles of delegates in these programs.
It was also on this day that we found out that there was a possibility that members of the IT&T ERU could be deployed to assist a European IT&T ERU going to Haiti. Infact one of the members of the IT&T ERU that was on the course deployed a few days later.
