"The Western Bay of Plenty's controversial tsunami siren warning system has come under heavy fire from Bay leaders, who have told Civil Defence to "go right back to square one".

During a meeting of the Tauranga Western Bay Emergency Management Policy Committee yesterday, local councillors made it clear they were unhappy with the current system and asked Tauranga Western Bay Emergency management manager Barry Low to immediately revise it."
